Port Blair, Jan 18: Protesting against the A&N Administrations failure to make transportation arrangements for inter-islander students, hundreds of students from different colleges took to the streets on Monday morning and protested in the IP&T Parking area.  They demanded the District Administration to ensure regular and timely boat service for transporting all inter-islander students.

The protest was led by NSUI State President Mr. M.A Sajid, NSUI District Vice-President, Mr. Ayush Singh and NSUI State General Secretary Mr. R. Mukesh.

Later, a delegation of NSUI along with the protestors met the concerned authority of DC Office to discuss upon the issue were assured of providing sailing of boats to all Islands within 3 days after which the protest was called off.

The NSUI State President has also written a letter to the Deputy Commissioner demanding to provide adequate boats for transporting all inter-islander students to their respective destinations on urgent basis.

Sajid said that the NSUI would intensify its agitation in the coming days if the Administration fails to transport all inter-islander students to their destinations.
