Port Blair, Feb 8: The Govt. of India has inter alia requested individual beneficiaries under NFSA to furnish proof of Aadhaar number or undergo Aadhaar authentication to received subsidies under NFSA.

The department of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs has been repeatedly informing and requesting the ration card holders through press releases and fair price shop dealers from time to time to get their Aadhaar number seeded with the ration card data base. Many ration card beneficiaries have still not got their Aadhaar number seeded with the ration cards. Hence, it is once again requested to all the NFSA (PHH & AAY) card holders to get their and their family member’s Aadhaar seeded in the ration card database through the respective Circle Office of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs department and its subordinate supply units in Inter-Islands by 31st March 2022.

All the beneficiaries are made aware that with implementation of ‘One Nation One Ration Card’ in this UT, no ration card holder will be able to draw their PDS items in absence of Aadhaar authentication in ration card database.

Any person not yet enrolled for issue of Aadhaar number is requested to get enrolled for Aadhaar so as to continue the NFSA benefits to draw the subsidized PDS foodgrains.
