Port Blair, Feb 9: South Andaman District Police is committed to zero tolerance policy against bootlegging and illicit handia. To ensure that bootleggers and illicit liquor sellers do not take advantage during this election period, a close vigil has been kept over the bootleggers and of late numerous raids have been conducted in various parts of this District.

In the last two weeks, as many as 20 cases have been registered in South Andaman District effecting seizure of liquor that includes 121 bottles of IMFL (64.84 liters), 229 Kg of Handia and 02 vehicles (Scooty). Leaving no stone unturned, jungle searches are also being conducted to keep a check on illicit trade.

The tireless and sincere efforts of South Andaman District Police team succeeded in putting a hold on illegal activities. This District is committed to take stern action against bootleggers & illicit liquor and has mounted strict surveillance for upcoming election.
