Port Blair, Feb 25: Humane Touch in association with DIET, Garacharma organized an Awareness Program for the students of DIET at DIET auditorium on 24th February 2022 at 10:00am.
Smti.Anuradha Mishra welcomed the dignitaries and Shri M Sailabdeen ,Principal , DIET highlighted the need of awareness on the impact of drugs and alcohol on the students community.
Dr. Mithesh Behari, Consultant Nuero- Phycatrist, Dr Rithika's Diagnostic Solution was the keynote speaker in this program. He emphasized the ill-effects of social evils on mental health. He had an active interaction session with the students. Further He also gave tips on how to cope with the ill- effects of social evils and their impact on the mental health of the young generation.
N.Abdul Salam Ex- Executive Member, Humane Touch briefed about the activities done by Humane Touch in the field of Alcoholism. He also spoke about the problems faced by the families due to alcoholism and drug and also pointed towards the consequences of alcoholism, which destroys families and societies and leads to surge in domestic violence and crime.
Documentaries on alcoholism and a film on Mind Matters were showcased on this ocassion to the students of DIET by the team of Humane Touch.
Altogether 70 students participated in the program. The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Suja Johnson.
