Port Blair, March 11: A delegation of unemployed Pharmacist met Shri. Abhay Kumar, National President, Indian Pharmacist Association (IPA) at Port Blair today and raised several points for consideration. The points included:

1) Offline conducting of exams and early completion of the recruitment process of Pharmacist under DHS which was initiated in 2018.

2) Recruitment of sufficient number of Pharmacist under ANIIMS.

3). Restoring of engagement of Pharmacist under DHS on leave vacancy as it was done prior to November 2020.

4) Creation of more posts of Pharmacists after the upgradation of many health facilities under the A&N Administration.

5) Stop renting of Pharmacy Licence and respectable salary for Pharmacist.

The IPA President Abhay Kumar said that all demands are genuine and will be taken up at all appropriate level by the Association. All the unemployed Pharmacist present also took the membership of Indian Pharmacist Association ( IPA).

The gathering was addressed by Shri. Abhay Kumar who spoke about the latest development in the field of Pharmacy profession and called upon all Pharmacist to safeguard the Pharmacy Profession by way of celebrating 75th year of Pharmacy Act 1948, as there is a challenge to Pharmacy profession from the medical field itself.

Shri. Suresh Charan, Senior Pharmacist also enlightened the gathering about importance and aspirations of Pharmacy profession. Shri. Muthu Kumar, a community Pharmacist expressed his concern in delay in conducting recruitment exams. He called upon everyone to unite under the umbrella of IPA for the betterment of Pharmacy profession.
