Port Blair, March 14: In an outstanding performance by a remote government school in South Andaman, the Government Model Sr. Sec. School, Hutbay bagged the second position in the ‘Fit India Quiz 2022’ leaving behind private schools of the state. The quiz competition was held on 13th March 2022 through online mode in which schools including Navy Children School (NCS) and Carmel Sr. Sec. School had participated.
While the NCS secured the first position, GMSSS Hutbay in spite of all constraints and being located in a remote area could secure the second position. The school won a cash prize of Rs. One Lakh while a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- was won by the participating students. The participating students from GMSSS Hutbay included Kumar Bishal Mazumder of XI Science and Kumari Muthulaxmi of XII Science, who were guided by their coach Shri Satheesh Kumar Athmakuri, PET attached to the school. The external invigilator for the finale was Shri Eshwar Rao, PET, GSSS R.K. Pur.
