Port Blair, March 25: Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari, PVSM, AVSM, VM, ADC, Chief of Air Staff (CAS) accompanied by Mrs Neeta Chaudhari President AFWWA are on their maiden visit to Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) from 23 Mar 22 to 25 Mar 22. During the visit the Air Chief visited Headquarters Andaman & Nicobar Command, Air Force Station Car Nicobar, and other strategic locations. He was briefed by the C-in-C, about the role and capabilities of the integrated theatre command, which have matured over 20 yrs since 08 Oct 2001. The Chief of the Air Staff, also called on Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd), Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari was commissioned as a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force on 29 Dec 1982 and is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy. The Air Officer has flown various types of aircraft and is experienced on MiG-21, MiG-23MF and MiG-29. He has flown over 3800 hrs and was a member of the first aerobatic team on Kirans. He is a Cat A Qualified Flying Instructor, Graduate of the Defence Services Staff College and an Instrument Rating Instructor and Examiner. The Air Chief Marshal has a rich experience of operational flying, having undertaken numerous Air Defence missions during Op-Meghdoot and Op-Safed Sagar. He has the unique distinction of being an Instructor at Defence Services Staff College, Wellington as well as Defence Services Command & Staff College at Zambia. The Air Chief Marshal has been instrumental in enhancing operational capability as the DCAS, SASO EAC, AOC-in-C WAC and VCAS prior to taking over as Chief of the Air Staff on 30 Sep 21. In recognition for his meritorious services of an exceptionally high order, he was awarded the Vayu Sena Medal in Jan 2004, Ati Vishist Seva Medal in Jan 15 and Param Vishisht Seva Medal in Jan 21. He was appointed as principal honorary Air ADC to the President of India from  30 Sep 21.

The Air Chief Marshal is married to Mrs Neeta Chaudhari and they are blessed with two sons.
