Port Blair, April 8: Under the guidance of the Chief Secretary, the Secretary (RD/Panch.) and the Director (RD/Panch.), the Directorate of RD, PRIs and ULBs, A&N Administration organized a two day State Level Seminar-cum-Camp on GeM/e-Tender Registration for SHGs of DAY-NRLM and of Social Welfare Dept. in collaboration with the Directorate of Social Welfare, A&N Administration and with the technical support of SOVTECH in the training hall of Directorate of RD, PRIs & ULBs on 07th April, 2022 and at C.D. Blocks Mayabunder, Diglipur, Rangat, Little Andaman, Campbell Bay, Nicobar and Nancowry on 08th April, 2022 wherein State Officers participated through Video Conference.

Shri Prateek P, Director (Social Welfare) inaugurated the programme on 7th April, 2022 and motivated the Self Help Group Members to participate in the GeM Market as a seller and enhance their livelihood opportunities. He expressed gratitude towards the Secretary (RD), Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS for the support of the joint initiative of Rural Development and Social Welfare Departments for conducting seminar-cum-camp exclusively for the Self Help Group Members for registration on GeM/e-Tender Portal. He informed the SHGs that all the departments time to time floats tenders or place orders for supply of various office items, mid-day meals, ration for Anganwadis, refreshments, etc. and the SHGs can avail these opportunities to enhance their livelihood. The Rural Development Department and Social Welfare Department will extend handholding support through State and Block level officials to the SHGs for registration on GeM/e-Tender portal.

More than 100 SHGs participated in the seminar and sought clarifications related registration on GeM. The members were taught about the technical aspects of registration under GeM Portal. The CDPOs, ICDS staffs and Block level RD staff also participated in the seminar and the officials from SOVTECH demonstrated the technicality for getting enrolled under GeM Portal, participation in bidding, taking orders, e-Procurement, etc.

More than 20 SHGs were mapped on the spot under GeM at NRLM MIS from the Blocks and their applications have been forwarded at GeM Portal for further registration.

The Extension Officer (RD), Smti. Gurjeet Kaur, expressing vote of thanks informed the SHGs that the camp for registration will continue till 15th April, 2022 and the Block staff will be helping the SHGs for registration on GeM. All the SHGs were requested to come along with the requisite documents to the nearest Block or ICDS office to get registered on GeM. She also motivated the SHG members to participate in upcoming tender for supply of dry ration in Angawadis by availing financial support provided through DAY-NRLM scheme.
