ANTCC President Shri. Rangalal Halder, DCC President, South Andaman Shri. V.K Abdul Aziz, Ferrargunj Pramukh Smti. Padmawathi, Ferrargunj Up-Pramukh Shri. Simson, Shore Point Pradhan Shri. Bala, ANTCC Secretary Shri. Sunder Rao, DCC General Secretary Shri. Abhibhushan Ghosh, Block Congress President Shri. Laxmi Narayan, Samiti Member Bambooflat 2 Mr. Raja and other senior party leaders and PRI members were present during the protest.

Addressing the sit-in participants, Halder contended that ever since BJP came to power, prices of commodities, especially petroleum products have been steadily increasing and through this protest the Congress party aims to make the public aware about the anti-people policies of the Central Government.

Speaking on the occasion Aziz blamed the BJP saying that they hiked the prices of essential items such as medicine, petrol, diesel and LPG tantamount for snatching the rights and lives of the common people.

He also appealed all Islanders to stand united against the BJP government's failure to acknowledge hardships besetting the public and find solution to their grievances.
