Port Blair, April 11: As part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, Kala Kendra - A&N Islands, a Society for Promotion of Art & Culture, Department of Art & Culture organized a Patriotic Songs Competition for tourists and visitors in the precincts of the historic National Memorial Cellular Jail, Port Blair on 10th April 2022.
A good number of tourists and visitors enthusiastically participated in the competition. The participants presented songs on the theme “patriotism” and sang the songs with full passion, confidence and patriotic fervour. Dr. Avinash, a renowned musician was invited as a Judge for the competition.
The first prize was bagged by Ms Akansha Singh from Port Blair, while Smti Mudrika from Uttar Pradesh, Ms Ipshita Chauhan from Bhopal and Shri Joginder Singh from Pune bagged second, third & consolation prize respectively.
The programme concluded with the patriotic song presented by Dr. Avinash. Winners were awarded on the spot.
