Port Blair, April 13: As per the direction of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GoI under the aegis of AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV, the District Administration through its District Health Society, South Andaman is organising the Block Level Health Mela from 18th April to 22nd April 2022. Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman reviewed the preparedness of all line departments to be held in all three blocks of the South Andaman viz. Shore Point, Panchayat Community Hall on 18th April 2022, R. K. Pur, Panchayat Community hall on 20th April, 2022 and Carbyn’s Cove, Port Blair on 22nd & 23rd April 2022.

Health Mela is being organized with an aim to create awareness and provide services on Health, Nutrition & Sanitation amongst the community in coordination with other line departments.

Key Features of Mela:

Melas will also help in aware people about the various health programs being implemented by the Administration.

Build awareness about different Health programmes with focus on Ayushman Bharat Health & Welness Centre Issuance of Ayushman Bharat e-Cards on the spot.

Facilitate creation of Unique Health ID under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission for attendees.

Facilitate provision of Ayushman Bharat Card under Ayushman Bharat Prime Manthri Jan Arogya Yojana.

Increase health awareness of the population for prevention of various communicable and non-communicable diseases.

Provide screening for early diagnosis, basic health care services with drugs and diagnostics, teleconsultation with relevant health specialists and referrals as needed.

Employ Mobile Food Testing Vans (Food Safety on Wheels) for generating awareness on ‘Eat Right Movement India. Demonstration of food samples.

Generate awareness and displaying IEC on Fit India Movement.

Organise multiple activities under ‘Khelo India' programmes for diverse audience.

Conduct wellness-related activities like Yoga, Zumba, Meditation etc for the mela attendees.

Generate awareness on kitchen gardens, medicinal plants, and home remedies.

Services through AYUSH clinics.

Deployment of Ayushman School Health & Wellness Ambassadors.

Set up stall to educate communities about Ayushman Bharat Health & Wellness Ambassador, Health messengers and school health and wellness day in schools.

District Women & Child Development teams to engage Anganwadi Workers for community sensitisation about Health Mela and mobilize communities for Health Mela.

Issuance of Unique Disability Identity cards for Divyang.

Awareness on Village Health Sanitation & Nutrition Day for Early Childhood Development, Nutrition and Sanitation across the block.

Generating awareness and displaying IEC on POSHAN ABHIYAN including take-home ration, nutrition education, immunization, etc.

PRIs to conduct Special Gram Sabhas before Health Mela for ensuring community mobilization for Health Melas using local announcement and awareness generation mechanisms.

Set up stall to popularize Govt programs like housing, sanitation etc offered by the PRI and ULBs.

Organizing competitions, seminars, contests under the themes of AzadiKaAmritMahotsav during the Health Mela under themes of:
