Port Blair, April 14: The Indian Coast Guard today conducted a Community Interaction Programme at Gram Panchayat, Ramnagar in Diglipur. The programme was also graced by Shri. Saksham Grover Asst. Comdt., Shri Narayan Ch. Baroi, Field Assistant, Fisheries Dept. and Smti. Sumangala from Kalighat Police Station apart from general public and PRIs.

The Coast Guard team briefed the gathering on uses of various safety equipment like life jacket, fire extinguisher etc. for the fisherman community. The Asst. Comdt. also appealed to fisher community to cooperate to protect the border security at coastal zone and inform any emergency /suspect over 1554 number.

On the occasion, Shri Mitun Das, Pradhan GP Ramnagar conveyed his gratitude to the Indian Cost Guard for the ‘Marg Darshan’ by presenting a photo frame.
