Port Blair, April 18: The Tushnabad Gram Panchayat convened a Special Gram Sabha Meeting on 14th April 2022 in the Community Hall on the occasion of 131st Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The meeting commenced with paying floral tribute to Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar by Pradhan, PRI Members, line department officials and general public. 

Shri.Anand Amrit Raj, Pradhan presented the activities / works to be undertaken by the Panchayat in the Gram Sabha Meeting. Repairing and maintenance of Street Lights, Sanitation, Drug Abuse Free Panchayat, Short Marathon for the youths, Rural Hut under NRLM as Short Term work and Development of School Ground, Implementation of PMAY, Mouwadera Tourism Project, Stadium as Long Term works.

Dr. H.K. Sharma, Principal, JNRM appreciated the UBA  team for the active participation in the village development. Dr. K.Venkatesan, HOD, Homescience and Nodal Officer, UBA on the occasion briefed the activities under UBA and laid emphasis on how the Panchayats through Gram Sabha can take active part in the process of planning and decision making by involving all sects of villagers for livelihood means. 

The student volunteers from JNRM staged a Street Play (Nukkad Natak) on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Health Hazards of Plastics and Water, Sanitation, Hygiene (WaSH) etc. School students of Tushnabad presented the patriotic song. Later the certificates were distributed to the participants of Three days Skill Development training Programme on Floriculture, Mushroom Cultivation and Vermi Composting organised by the UBA Cell, JNRM.

The Sabha was coordinated by Smt.Kakaoli Ghosh, Panchayat Secretary. Smt. M. Rajni, Zilla Parishad members, Mr. Fayaz Ali, Asst. Engineer, APWD, Mr. Panchanan Halder, Range Officer and other PRI members attended the Gram Sabha Meeting.
