Port Blair, April 20: The Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Cell, JNRM in association with the Gram Panchayat Chouldari is organising a ten days Skill development training Programme for Beauticians in Chouldari Rescue Centre for the women from 19th to 28th April 2022.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. H.K.Sharma, Principal, JNRM as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering he informed that JNRM is being a Higher Educational Institution, which is always strives to promote rural development through extension activity like UBA. The participants should make use of this opportunity for their empowerment.
The Guest of Honour, Smt.Tapashi Saha, Pradhan, Chouldari Gram Panchayat spoke on the importance of such skill development training and said that the Gram Panchayat will plan further such training programmes in collaboration with the UBA Cell, JNRM based on the demand and supply drive. The potential trainees shall be chosen from this group and advanced training would be given for them to start their entrepreneurship, she added.
Dr. K. Venkatesan, HOD, Homescience and Nodal Officer, UBA, outlined the activities of UBA for Rural Prosperity. Smt. Gigi Gharami, Up-Pradhan, Chouldari Gram Panchayat. Smt. Deepa Ramanan, Panchayat Secretary and Smt. Chitali Roy, Samiti Member, Chouldari Gram Panchayat also spoke on the occasion. Ms.Varsa Lakra, and Shri.Gautam Mitra, ICSSR Project Staff, JNRM coordinated the programme.
