Port Blair, May 5: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary to order for repairs of the lone DG set in Champin village, which is presently witnessing total blackout.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament mentioned that since the last three to four days the entire area of Champin Village of Nancowrie Island is witnessing total blackout after the lone DG Set developed technical snags.

He added that there were four DG sets in Champin Village out of which one was sent to Teressa Island while another is already out of service due to technical issues. Later out of the two functional DG Sets one DG set was sent to the Kamorta Island.

He pointed out that now the lone DG set of Champin village has developed technical snags, which has resulted in a total blackout. The MP therefore requested for immediate repairs of the lone DG set in Champin village, as per demands raised by the Captain of the village.
