Port Blair, May 5: For the very first time, India will be hosting the Biggest Chess Event in the World, the 44th FIDE Chess Olympiad 2022 which is scheduled to take place in Chennai, India from 28th July to 10th August 2022 and will host 1500 to 1800 players from more than 150 countries.
Meanwhile, it is matter of great pride for the Islanders that Mr. H Dinesh, International Arbiter from Andaman & Nicobar Islands has been provisionally selected to officiate in the upcoming 44th FIDE Chess Olympiad 2022 as Arbiter. He has been invited to undergo training at TTDC Beach Resort Complex, Mahabalipuram, Chennai from 28-31 May 2022. The final selection and appointment will be done as per the requirement of Olympiad as well as satisfactorily undergoing the training.
