Port Blair, May 6: Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman and Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Institutions along with the Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Pradhans and Samiti members of Gram Panchayat, Chouldhari, Humphrygunj and Engineering Wing of Rural Development conducted field inspections at Bachara Pahar, Veer Savarkar Park and Primary Health Centres at Chouldhari village.

The team inspected the Jawahar Navodhya Vidhyalaya at Chouldari and interacted with the Principal and students and assured them for the improvement of the Institution and facilities.

Further inspection was carried out at the PHC, Chouldari and interacted with Medicos and PRIs. The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman issued directions for better execution and extension of available medical facilities to villagers.

En-route to Port Blair, the wooden jetty at Veer Savarkar Park was inspected which is in a dilapidated state. After inspection the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman assured to take up the matter with the Forest Department for its repair and maintenance.

The playground at Bachara Pahar was also visited and directions were issued to EE, PRIs to consider a mini stadium under RURBAN Scheme.

The passenger shed to be constructed by the Department of Rural Development at Dhanikari junction under RURBAN Scheme was also inspected and directions were issued to the Engineering Wing to expedite the process of tendering and related construction works. Further directed Revenue team to remove encroachment on the land.
