Port Blair, May 8: The Pradhan Gram Panchayat Ramnagar , Shri. Mitun Das today called upon the Secretary (RD, PRIs & ULBs) and Director (RD, PRIs & ULBs) during his tour for official work at Port Blair and took “Margdarshan”(suggestions) to develop the rural village Ramnagar.

During the meeting he submitted a letter and discussed the issues pertaining with roads under PMGSY –II and requested for the  urgent approval of repair work of one of the road under GP -Ramnagar where the bus service is barred by the STS Diglipur unit due to non motorable condition of the road. Due to this the commuters are forced to walk up to 7 kms for taking any transport service.

After hearing the genuine issues about the road condition and bus service, both the Secretary and Director assured for its immediate solution. The Secretary suggested the Pradhan for a meeting with the Executive Engineer (PRIs N&M).

Das also met with the Director Health and requested for the immediate posting of permanent Health Officer at Sub Centre Ramnagar with direction to reside at the quarter attached to the Sub Centre building for attending any emergency case at Ramnagar village. The PHC is at a distance of 14 km and it is not feasible to get ambulance service at Ramnagar. He also requested the Director Health for the official opening of the newly constructed Sub Centre which is completed during SAGY-plan but still waiting for its official opening.

Meanwhile, the Pradhan submitted a letter to the Director State Transport and requested for the resumption of bus service of Diglpur to Rangat via Ramnagar so that ATR passengers may get the connectivity with ATR bus at Kalara Junction and college students and public daily users for Mayabunder journey may get the direct service.
