Port Blair, May 23: Due to operationalisation of Rutland Water Supply Project, Port Blair Municipal Area has been continuously receiving normal level of water this year. However, during 1st week of May 2022 due to non-availability of flights, there was a delay in rectification of mechanical problem at main Treatment Plant at Garacharama and Lambaline.

Now, after arrival of monsoon and repair of machines at treatment plants, normal water supply has been restored in Garacharama area w.e.f. May 8, 2022 and in remaining part of PBMC area from today (May 23). Normal water supply will continue in future also without any change.

However, general public have been advised to use treated water for essential domestic purpose only and promote use of untreated water from local source or rain water for non-domestic purpose during this monsoon. Public representatives and general public's cooperation and assistance in this matter shall be highly appreciated.
