Port Blair, May 25: As part of the series of programmes under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi shall be interacting with the beneficiaries of 15 welfare schemes of the Central government from various states/UTs through virtual mode during the national-level programme to be held at Shimla on May 31, 2022.
The beneficiaries of 15 welfare schemes from different districts across the nation including A&N Islands, who have been benefitted from the schemes of Government of India would join virtually with the Prime Minister. The Ministry of Rural Development is co-coordinating the entire event all over India.
At a press conference held in the conference hall of District Office, the Secretary (Rural Development), Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS who is also the Nodal Officer for this event in Andaman and Nicobar Islands informed the media scribes regarding the objective & preparation for the State & District level functions of the PM’s virtual interaction with beneficiaries to be held at Port Blair and at North & Middle Andaman District as well as Nicobar District.
Addressing the media persons, the Secretary (RD) informed that the 15 welfare schemes on which the Hon’ble Prime Minister will interact with the beneficiaries includes Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (both Grameen & Urban), Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, POSHAN Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission (both Grameen & Urban), Jal Jeevan Mission & AMRUT, Pradhan Mantri SVANidhi Scheme, One Nation One Ration Card, Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Ayushman Bharat PM Jan Arogya Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centre and Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana.
He further stated that the first and foremost objective of the event is how to reach to the last mile beneficiaries to uplift their living standard by bringing them under the fold of all these schemes. Pointing towards the broad objectives of interaction programme is to ascertain how those left behind can be saturated- Antyodaya approach, understand the ease of living brought by various beneficiary oriented scheme, seek ideas for improvement of the schemes, explore possibilities of further convergence for the realization of higher benefits, and discuss citizen aspirations@ 2047, when the nation will be celebrating its 100 years of Independence, the Secretary RD said.
At Port Blair, the State level function will be held at DBRAIT while the District level functions will be held at North & Middle Andaman District and at Nicobar District on May 31, 2022. Giving details of the programme, the Secretary (RD) informed that the first part of interaction is at state and district level which will start at 10:15 a.m. and conclude at 10:50 a.m. On this occasion, interaction with beneficiaries will be done by the State & District Officials.
In the second part of interaction, the State and District level function would get virtually connected to the National event at Shimla from where Hon’ble Prime Minister will interact with the selected beneficiaries of the schemes mentioned above both physically as well as virtually.
The Secretary (RD) also briefed and sought cooperation from the media persons for the pre-event programmes and activities scheduled for wide publicity of the schemes in all print and electronic media in the Islands viz;
1) Articles in English/Hindi/Local languages on government programmes may be published in print and electronic media.
2) Social Media Engagement.
3) Short good news/Success Stories on these schemes on Doordarshan and other private and local news channels.
It was further apprised to the media personnel that the Administration has planned to telecast/broadcast the details about the scheme from All India Radio, Port Blair and Doordharshan Kendra, Port Blair on daily basis from 26.05.2022 onwards.
