Port Blair, May 30: A team of Senior Party Leaders under the leadership of Shri. Rangalal Halder, President, Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee attended the Public Hearing of the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JREC) held at Marine Hall Port Blair. During the hearing, Halder raised his concern and narrated the hardship and the consequences of the proposed power tariff hike as suggested by the Electricity Department, A&N Islands. If made applicable it will badly affect every citizen of the islands.

The Implication of the same was very well narrated, explained and made to understand to the JERC. It was demanded that the hike in power tariff should not be implemented looking at the hardship faced by the Islanders.

The ANTCC team consisted of Shri. V.K Abdul Aziz, President, DCC, South Andaman, Shri. Gyan Prakash Krishna (General Secretary INTUC), Shri Mohd. Rafique (General Secretary INTUC), Shri A.R Manickam (Congress Senior Leader), Shri M.A Sajid (President, National Students’ Union of India), Smti. Zubaida Begum (Coordinator, South Andaman Mahila Congress), Smti. Ratna Kannan (Coordinator, Nicobar District Mahila Congress), Shri Simson Devan (Up- Pramukh, Ferrargunj Panchayat Samiti) and Shri. Dheeraj Singh (Congress Leader).

The Team Members who also raised their voice, concern and objection at the Public Hearing of JERC in support of the same issue included Shri. V K Abdul Aziz, Smti. Zubaida Begum, Shri. A R Manickam, Shri Mohd Rafique and Shri. Dheeraj Singh.
