Port Blair, May 30: The ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is a monthly radio program in which the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi addresses the nation through public interaction and showcases the best practices and initiatives being done by the public & government for the betterment of the Nation. This month, the 89th edition/ episode of Mann Ki Baat radio was live telecasted by PBMC with DD Port Blair at Corbyn's Cove Beach on 29th May 2022.
Around 250 Safaimitras, the Chairperson Smti. Kavita Uday Kumar, Senior Vice Chairperson Shri. Azizur Rehman, Junior Vice-Chairperson Smti. A. Selva Rani, other Councilors & Officials of PBMC attended the program.
The Senior Vice Chairperson Shri. Azizur Rehman on the occasion expressed his views to DD News correspondent Girish Nishana who was deputed to cover the Port Blair from Delhi.
Shri. Subramani of Swachhata Awareness Team of PBMC on behalf of Safaimitra has shown gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi for dignifying the Safaimitras in the society and their contribution towards making the India Swachh through Swachh Bharat Mission. The chairperson and other present Councilors thanked the Hon’ble Prime Minister for taking the issues of underprivileged and unrecognized sectors and providing many benefits through various centrally sponsored schemes.
The program was followed by a mass beach clean-up drive at Corbyn’s Cove Beach in which 250 Safaimitras and Councilors collected segregated waste. The collected segregated waste has been delivered to the Dry Resource Centre at Brookshabad for further processing/ recycling.
