Port Blair, June 6: Former State BJP President, Shri Vishal Jolly has requested the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Islands providing temporary shelter for accommodating the affected family members due to severe land slide occurred by earth cutting for defence construction were residing in Doctor’s Colony, Nayagaon.

Shri Jolly mentioned his recent visit to Shadipur Govt. School wherein 18 families of doctor’s colony (Nayagaon) were temporarily shifted and accommodated at Shadipur School due to damage of their houses owing to the severe landslide by earth cutting for defence construction.

In his letter he also welcomed the decision was taken by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration provided timely proactive measures and shifting the affected poor families to Shadipur Govt. School.

Further he informed that the affected families are facing immense hardship due to non-availability of basic facilities such as toilet, bathing complex and poor conditions of the provided area thereby causing great inconvenience to live their life in such pathetic and unhygienic conditions.

Accordingly, he requested the Chief Secretary to make necessary arrangements to shift the above affected families in any available/vacant Govt. residential accommodation/quarters temporarily where they can stay conveniently and by the time may kindly arrange some relief to the affected families so that their residential houses could be repaired.
