Port Blair, June 19: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to conduct recruitment exams for all vacant posts of Andaman & Nicobar Administration at Mayabunder and Car Nicobar Islands also along with Port Blair city so that youths of all the districts can appear in those recruitment exams, without facing the trouble to travel all the way to Port Blair.

He also requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor to consider designating Mayabunder and Car Nicobar as exam centres for respective districts for all local and national level recruitment drives as well as all competitive exams.

In a letter addressed to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament mentioned that for every local and mainland based recruitment process youths living in Nicobar as well as North & Middle Andaman District have to come to Port Blair. Not only this, even for some competitive exams, only Port Blair city is designated as the centre, he added.

The Member of Parliament mentioned that for youths of Nicobar as well as North & Middle Andaman District, a visit to Port Blair is not only an expensive matter but also it is troublesome due to unexpected changes in shipping schedule and ATR conditions.

He added that thousands of posts in various departments of Andaman & Nicobar Administration are lying vacant and there is a move from the side of Andaman & Nicobar Administration to fill up all the vacant posts.

The Member of Parliament requested that during filling up all these posts the recruitment exams may be conducted at Mayabunder and Car Nicobar Islands also along with Port Blair city so that youths of all the districts can appear in those recruitment exams, without facing the trouble to travel all the way to Port Blair.
