Port Blair, June 21: On 18th June, 2022, A&N Traffic Police conducted a Nukkad Natak in collaboration with Port Blair Guru Ki Rasoi at Flag Point to create road safety awareness amongst the general public. Around 10 participants from Port Blair Guru Ki Rasoi have acted in this Nukkad Natak. They performed two different acts, one of which highlighted the case of a bus driver who was driving the bus in a dangerous manner while using his mobile phone and getting into an accident. The another act highlighted the case of a youngster who did not wear helmet while riding a motorcycle and drove rashly resulting in a fatal accident. Around 200 people witnessed the act.
To create wide awareness amongst the general public, various road safety awareness programmes are being conducted by A&N Traffic Police. Apart from this, road safety awareness classes, meetings with public service vehicle drivers, Nukkad Nataks and free eye testing camp were conducted. More than 800 drivers/staff of various departments/ general public have participated and benefited from the classes/meetings/camps.
