Port Blair, July 1: In an another kind and big-hearted move of Deputy Commissioner, South under the leadership of Shri Jitendra Narain, Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, the 18 deprived families who had lost their dream houses, amidst the construction of Coast Guard enclave adjacent to VSI airport at Port Blair, which resulted in landslide were shifted to Dugong Guest House, Aberdeen Bazar, Port Blair as an interim relief.

Previously, Andaman & Nicobar Administration had provided them with immediate shelter at Govt. Shadipur school. The families had expressed their sincere gratitude towards the officials for getting them the support.

Shri M. P. Abdul Rasheed, Director Ration Rasheed Foundation who had been in constant touch with the families during these hard times, also expressed his heartfelt appreciation towards Hon’ble Lt Governor, Chief Secretary, A&N Administration and other senior officials for providing the families with support and also told the families to have faith on our Administration in getting keys for their so called homes as a long term relief. Rasheed also expressed thankfulness towards Smti Vasantha, Councilor, Ward No. 12 and Shri Muthuraman for rendering their selfless service at this hour of need by extending support and cooperation to the affected families.
