Port Blair, July 4: Continuing the efforts to provide benefits of various schemes of the Government of India at the door steps of the villagers, various departments of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration viz. Directorate of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Fisheries and Social Welfare held an awareness camp at Gram Panchayat, Hopetown on 04/07/2022.

Under the guidance and directions of the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, a camp was held under the theme “Prashashan Aapke Dwaar” on 02/07/2022 at Panchayat Bhavan, Hopetown. The camps were in continuation of the efforts to reach the door steps of the beneficiaries to disperse the benefits to public and create awareness amongst the masses.

Large number of local residents, general public, PRIs attended the awareness camp and availed the benefits of various welfare schemes of different departments. During the awareness camp the Unemployed youths enquired about various schemes, 54 applications were filed for availing benefits of subsidy schemes i.e. ice box, vehicle and fishing equipment etc. from Fisheries Department, Civil supplies department disposed 81 cases of Family Identity card separation, inclusion, age correction, deletion etc., 44 applications for Adhar updation was disposed off on the spot, 02 forms for Ujjawa Yojana were filed. Several queries regarding pension schemes and various other schemes of GOI were raised by the general public and the officials of the concerned department responded for redressal of the same.

PRI members of various tiers present during the camp praised the A & N Administration for their efforts and expressed gratitude towards Shri Jitendra Narain IAS, Chief Secretary, A & N Island. The awareness camp was coordinated by the Department of RD & Panchayats.
