Port Blair, July 6: The District Health Society, South Andaman under National Tuberculosis Elimination Program conducted the TB Active Case Finding (ACF) survey and COVID-19 suspects surveillance at Shadipur today.

The team of District TB unit along with paramedics & ASHA workers of UHC Shadipur and volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra in coordination with Directorate of Health Services visited the houses of TB patients, street vendors & other shopkeepers and conducted Active Case Finding (ACF) survey and also collected spot samples of the identified presumptive TB suspects for further testing at TB Unit of G. B. Pant Hospital.

Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman requested the general public to avail the opportunity to screen themselves and those who are having fever, cough & night sweats may go for TB test at nearest Health Centre. DC (SA) urged the general public to follow the COVID appropriate behaviour and cooperate with the field staff during home visit campaign.

It was also communicated that the COVID -19 surveillance & ACF of TB will be conducted at Dairy Farm from 5 pm to 8 pm on 07.07.2022
