Port Blair, July 25: Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman along with Shri Dilkush Meena, SDM (SA), Smt Pramila Kumari, Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad (SA) and other PRI member inaugurated three storied library under RURBAN mission for the public purpose.

The DC (SA) mentioned that Public libraries are an important entity in local communities, particularly in rural areas. They are more than shelves of books and offer an ever changing range of social and cultural resources for the community and would play a vital role by serving as an important resource for meeting the educational and informational needs of the rural populace.

The team of officials inspected the building and assured for the suitable infrastructure such as racks, chairs, tables and availability of books through collaboration with different organizations. 

DC (SA) appealed to the general public of Chouldhari village for maximum utilization of the library for productive reading which is built at a cost of around 72 Lakhs under RURBAN Mission.
