Port Blair, Aug 21: The ongoing Booster Dose Campaign organized by the District Administration, South Andaman and Health Department in coordination with the PRIs and various associations at multiple places across the District is gathering tremendous response.

Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman and Shri. Ankit Yadav, IAS, Additional District Magistrate and Shri Dilkhush Meena IAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate along with Smt U Kavitha, Chairperson and Shri Aziz-ur-Rehman, Senior Vice Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Council and Councillors of the respective wards visited the ongoing campaign at various locations where the special vaccination drives are being carried out.

The District functionaries visited the vaccination camp at Bathubasti school where the special camp was conducted in coordination with the Traders Association, Bathubasti. The traders of Bathubasti also highlighted and discussed the parking issue with the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman. The DC (SA) assured that necessary action will be initiated to resolve the issue at the earliest.

At Brookshabad all sanitary workers were also being covered through a special drive. Directions were issued to Medical Officers, Health Staff, ANMs and other field functionaries to maximize the participation of eligible persons in the COVID vaccination drive and strengthen the drive.

The team of officials and public representatives visited the following vaccination camps today:

1              Phongy Chaung Temple

2              Community Hall, Atlanta Point

3              Community Hall, Brookshabad

4              Health & Wellness Centre, Corbyn's Cove

5              Community Hall, New Pahargaon

6              Government Sr. Sec. School, Bathubasti

To strengthen the ongoing vaccination drive 3 (Three) State Transport Buses have also been pressed into service for mobile vaccination wherein 2 (Two) buses covered the areas under PHC Garacharma & 1 (One) bus covered the area under Chouldari, Gram Panchayat. Vaccination Camps at more than 20 locations were scheduled on 21.08.2022.

Total 14434 persons were administered vaccination in the ongoing campaign in last three days on 18.06.2022, 19.06.2022 and 20.08.2022.

It is further informed to the general public that the District Administration has scheduled Special Vaccination Camp on 22.08.2022 (Monday) at the following locations from 0900 Hrs to 1700 Hrs;

1)            Khaithan Kalyan Mandapam, Junglighat

2)            Community Hall, Dairy Farm

3)            Mannarghat- Mobile Vaccination

4)            Chouldhari- Mobile Vaccination

The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman has appealed to the General Public to avail this opportunity to ensure 100% vaccination of the precautionary dosage to all eligible persons.
