Port Blair, Aug 21: Along with rest parts of India, the 78th Birth Anniversary of Late. Rajiv Gandhi, Former Prime Minister of India was observed at Gandhi Bhavan, Port Blair.

At the outset, ANTCC President Shri. Rangalal Halder garlanded the portrait of Late. Rajiv Gandhi followed by the floral tribute by the leaders and members of the functionaries of Pradesh Congress Committee, District Congress Committee, Block Congress Committee, Seva Dal, Youth Congress, NSUI, INTUC, City Congress, Mahila Congress Committee and three Zonal Coordinators, Fisherman Congress Committee, Congress Municipal Councilors, Congress PRI Members and general public.

On the occasion, Halder read a brief note urging to celebrate this day as Harmony Day in our Nation. The message of this day is that people with different religions and beliefs should live peacefully in the country and to refrain from violence and make this day the instil communal harmony, unity, goodwill and love in the society.

Halder especially appreciated the Women's for becoming a root and strength to the Congress Party.
