Port Blair, Aug. 24: The Department of Sports & Youth Affairs in collaboration with Education Department is organising a week long different sports activities from Aug. 22 to Aug. 28 in connection with National Sports Day -2022, the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand (Hockey Wizard) on 29th August. To mark the occasion, a 5 Km Road Race (Open) for women and 10 Km Road Race (Open) for Men was held today from Netaji Stadium to Corbyn’s Cove and back to Netaji Stadium.
The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS flagged off the road race as chief guest. A large number of men, women and students participated in the event. Officials from Sports Department and Education Department were also present during the event.
