Port Blair, Sept. 18: The Indian Coast Guard conducted International Coastal Cleanup campaign at Radhanagar Beach, Swaraj Dweep Island on 17th Sep 22. Inspector General Bhisham Sharma, TM, Commander Coast Guard Region (A&N) was the chief guest for the occasion. The event was conducted along in line with GoI initiative of “Swachh Sagar Surakshit Sagar”
The aim of the event was to generate awareness on keeping our marine environment free from all kinds of pollution. Personnel from all walks of life including school children, Govt. officials, Civil volunteer groups, NGO’s, NCC cadets etc. participated in the event. A total of 700 personnel were present on the beach including 150 ICG personnel.
