Fancy Dress, Rangoli, Cultural Dance and Wall Painting Competitions Organised by Hope Town Panchayat

Port Blair, Sept. 23: With the aim of promoting art & culture in villages, various activities such as fancy dress, rangoli, cultural dance and wall paintings competitions were organized by the Gram Panchayat Hope Town on Sept. 16. To felicitate the participants, a prize distribution ceremony was held at Panchayat Bhavan premises at Hope Town today. The chief guest, Shri Hari Kallikkat, IAS, Secretary (Art & Culture), A & N Administration and guest of honor, Shri Prateek Yadav, Director (Art & Culture) A&N Administration gave away the prizes to winners of various competitions.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest appreciated the students and women for their wonderful performances and assured the gathering that the Department will provide all support to promote art and culture in the area.

In his address, the Director (Art & Culture) encouraged the participants and appreciated the efforts of Gram Panchayat Hope Town. 

Smti Padmawathi, Pramukh, Panchayat Samity Ferrargunj, Miss. V. K. Mariyam Bibi, Zilla Parishad Member, Hope Town, Smti Sobha, Principal, Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Bambooflat, Shri Suman Tamang, Senior Plant Manager, LPG  Bottling Plant (IOC) Chunna Batta, Smti Rashida Bibi, Pradhan, GP  Hope Town, Shri B. Laxmi Narayan, PSM, Hope Town, PRIs Member of GP Hope Town   and   Teachers  of  GSSS Bambooflat, Govt. P/School, Chunna Batta & Hope Town  and  a  large number of  villagers, students, youth and children  were present on the occasion.

Earlier, welcoming the gathering, Miss V. K. Mariyam Bibi , Zilla Parishad Member informed about the various activities conducted by Gram Panchayat Hopetown to promote art and culture in the village. The vote of thanks was proposed by Smti. Rashida Bibi, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Hope Town.
