HLG desired that considering the magnitude of cyber frauds, Police in collaboration with IT professionals should brainstorm and come out with technology based solutions to effectively curb the activities of cyber-fraudsters. Hon’ble LG also emphasized the need for effective detection, investigation and prosecution of cyber-crimes. This IEC material would help in disseminating the message of cyber safety and cyber hygiene such as Do’s and Don’ts, Safe internet banking, Online shopping fraud prevention, Social media safety precautions, Cyber Bullying etc. The IGP highlighted that right from story line, acting, shooting to editing of videos, everything in the videos has been done in-house by police staff of A&N Police. Similarly, all pamphlets have been designed and prepared by the police staff.

On this Cyber Jagrookta Diwas, which also marks the completion of one year of this initiative of MHA, to disseminate the message of cyber safety and cyber hygiene, the Andaman & Nicobar Police is holding special awareness sessions with Defence personnel, Coast Guard, Councillors and PRI members, Government employees, Market associations & shopkeepers, school teachers & college students, villagers & village captains in order to take the message of cyber safety to the grass roots level.

It is our firm belief that armed with the knowledge of cyber safety, and aware of the scams being run by cyber-criminals, the citizens of the Islands will successfully avoid becoming victims of cyber-crime.
