Resource Persons Guide Students to Explore Opportunities in Various Sectors and Choose their Career Wisely

Port Blair, Oct. 12: As the adolescence are on the verge of progressing towards adulthood, the Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Prothrapur today organised a Career Guidance Session for its students to enable them to choose a career wisely. Resource persons from different fields viz. Industries, ITI, Banking Sector, Police and Journalism were invited to brief and guide the students of Class XI and XII.

During the sessions, the resource persons enabled the students to understand how to opt for a good career, its requirements and qualifications. Stress was laid on understanding the areas of interest to achieve their desired career.

Employment generation schemes under PMEGP, job oriented courses at ITI, exams to be cleared for banking sector, different ranks in the Police; physical and educational qualifications required and the different areas of journalism were explained threadbare. Towards the end of the session, an interaction session was held between the students and the resource persons wherein doubts and queries of the young minds were cleared.

The resource persons included Shri Rakesh Kumar, Executive Officer (I/c) A&N KVIB, Shri Dinesh Mehra, Sub Inspector, PS Pahargaon, Smti T Raja Palaniammal from ITI, Dollygunj, Branch Manager, State Bank of India and Shri Denis Giles, Editor, Andaman Chronicle.

Earlier, Shri Mohd. Younus welcomed the resource persons and the gathering of students, while Shri S Suresh Kumar, Principal GSSS Prothrapur briefed the students on the importance of the session being organised. The entire session was coordinated by Smti Rina Pandey, In-charge, Samagra Shiksha, GSSS Prothrapur. The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Smti Jayanti, In-charge of the school.
