Port Blair, Oct. 16: Hon’ble Prime Minister today dedicated 75 Digital Banking Units (DBUs) in 75 Districts to the nation through video conferencing. In Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the inauguration function was held at Digital Banking Unit, State Bank of India, Port Blair.

The programme was attended by Shri Prem Anup Sinha, Chief General Manager, State Bank of India, Kolkata Circle, Shri Sujay Kumar Yadav, General Manager, State Bank of India, Shri Prabhas Bose, Deputy General Manager, State Bank of India, Smt Pramila Kumari, Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Smt. U Kavitha, Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Council and Shri Suman Bakshi, Regional Manager, State Bank of India.

The Chief General Manager informed the gathering that DBU will have facilities for Cash Withdrawal & Deposit, Account Opening, Fixed Deposit & Recurring Deposit, Digital Loans, Passbook Printing, Balance Enquiry and Fund Transfer. 

To promote Digital Banking under Digital India initiative, QR codes were distributed to 50 Autorikshaw in a function held at Mohanpura Autostand and QR Codes were also distributed to 68 Jeep operators, 22 Autorickshaw and 50 Traders, in a function held at Tushnabad Junction today.
