Recipients Recollect their Association with INA/IIL

Port Blair, Oct. 21: A sense of joy and emotion was very much visible when the surviving members of INA/IIL were felicitated commemoration of the Anniversary of the establishment of Provisional Govt. of Azad Hind(PGI).To acknowledge the contribution of the members of the INA/IIL, the Secretary, Art & Culture, Shri Hari Kallikkat, IAS accompanied by the Director, Art & Culture, Shri Prateek Raj Yadav today visited the homes of eminent senior citizens and felicitated them by presenting a shawl, a memento depicting the National Memorial Cellular Jail and sweets. 

The members who were felicitated are Smt. Ratan Devi, Smt. Har Devi, Smt. Kiran Kumari, Smt. Teja Devi, Dr. Moti Ram and Shri Rehmatullah.

While interacting with the Secretary and others present, the Members expressed their gratitude for visiting them and acknowledging their contribution in the freedom movement and development of A&N Islands. They also narrated their life &struggles during the British & Japanese period. They were seen elated while sharing the stories about Netaji’s visit to A&N Islands. Some of them also attended the programmes held at Netaji Club and Netaji Stadium. During the interaction, it was seen that the memories of those days are still afresh in their minds.

The Secretary Art & Culture while acknowledging the contribution of the eminent senior citizens enquired about their health and also conveyed his best wishes to them.
