Port Blair, Oct. 23: The Department of Industries, A&N Administration is implementing a Centrally Sponsored Scheme called ‘Prime Minister Scheme for Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME)’ under Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan with the objective to promote and develop micro Food Processing Enterprises in A & N Islands.
Under the scheme, financial assistance will be provided to new Project or existing Units in the form of Credit/Subsidy/Grant/Seed capital for different kinds of activities. Assistance for developing common Brand & Marketing of Products is provisioned under the Scheme to support Individuals/ SHGs/ Co-operatives/ Farmer Producers Organizations (FPOs) for setting up of new or up-gradation of existing unit.
For disseminating the schemes to target group and stakeholders, a calendar of outreach program has been scheduled covering all the Districts of A & N Islands.
Interested unemployed youth/entrepreneurs/farmers/SHGs/Co-operative Societies/FPOs willing to set up new food processing venture or upgrade existing facility are requested to attend the awareness program.
