Port Blair, Oct. 23: The NGO ‘WITH YOU’ organized a program at Community Hall Ferrargunj to felicitate the sanitation workers of various Gram Panchayats under Ferrargunj Tehsil for winning the National award- 1st position under Swachh Sarvekshan Grameen 2022. Smti Nandini Paliwal, IAS, Commissioner cum Secretary (RD/PRI) graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
The program started with lightening of lamp by Chief Guest and other guests followed by welcome song presented by students of Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Ferrargunj. Miss V.K.Mariyam bibi, President WITH YOU welcomed the Chief Guest with a Shawl and bouquet. Addressing the gathering, she congratulated the A&N Administration, PRIs and sanitation workers for receiving the National award for A&N Islands. She expressed her gratitude towards all and said that such awards boost the spirit of the worker's and PRIs.
Shri Mohammed Safique, Pradhan Mithakhari also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the efforts of WITH YOU and also requested the Commissioner cum Secretary to provide more sanitation workers in various Gram Panchayats.
Later, the Chief Guest felicitated the sanitation workers along with their Pradhans by presenting gifts to all of them. Addressing the gathering, the Chief guest appreciated the sanitation workers and PRIs for their dedication towards cleanliness of the respective area. She informed that A&N Administration will extend all support to the Gram Panchayats to ensure proper sanitation and requested the general public also to cooperate the Administration in this regard.
She also appreciated WITH YOU for taking the initiative to felicitate the workers of various Gram Panchayats. She exhorted support of every individual for maintaining the ranking of National award in future also. A memento was presented to the Chief Guest by the President, WITH YOU. The program concluded with Vote of thanks proposed by Meena, Member WITH YOU.
