Port Blair, Nov. 12: The birth anniversary of Dr. Salim Ali, ‘The Birdman of India’, was celebrated by the Science Centre. As part of the programme, the students were taken to Chidiyatapu, a place well known for its avian fauna for watching the birds through binocular. The students were taught to identify the birds and its nature in its natural habitat and also explained the unique biodiversity of Chidiyatapu. Around 50 students from various schools in & around Port Blair took part in the programme.

After completion of the tour, the students appeared for a ‘Feed Back Test’ on the experience gained by them during the bird watching. Accordingly, Kumar Natik Karmakar of Vivekanada Kendra Vidyalaya, Lamba Line, Kumar G. Sai Vignesh of Ananda Marg Middle School, Junglighat secured first and second position whereas Kumari Banashree Das of Govt. Sr. Sec. School School Line & Kumari Kiruthisha of Govt. Sr. Sec. School Rangachang were adjudged as the third & consolation prize winners respectively.
