Port Blair, Nov. 26: Andaman Law College celebrated Constitution Day befittingly. The Constitution Day function was presided over and inaugurated by Shri Subhankar Sen, Secretary (Law & Jail), A & N Administration as the chief guest. Shri Rizwanullah, Deputy Secretary (Law & Jail), A & N Administration was the guest of honour.

Addressing the gathering, the chief guest highlighted the principles and values cherished in the Constitution. He also stressed upon the fact that the Constitution of India is not a mechanical document and its constructive criticism from time to time is necessary to keep it in synchronization with the present needs of the society.

In his address, the guest of honour stated that from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, the common thread that binds us all is our Constitution.  Andaman Law College students spoke on the importance of the Constitution Day and performed a cultural dance depicting the cultural diversity of the Nation. Earlier, Shri Prashant Bhadu, Principal (i/c), Andaman Law College delivered the welcome address. 

Meanwhile, as part of the celebration, various programmes, competitions were organized on Nov. 25 & 26. Constitution Day Rally was organized today in which more than 150 students participated. The rally was organized with the aim to spread awareness about the relevance of Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas) among the general public. The rally was flagged off from the Netaji Stadium by Prof. (Dr). C. Sivaperuman, Scientist-E & Officer-in-Charge, Zoological Survey of India. He underlined the significance of adopting the principles of Constitution in our daily lives. The rally concluded in the campus of Andaman Law College. Later, essay writing, elocution and poster making competitions were held. The students of ALC participated enthusiastically in all the events and competitions.
