Port Blair, Nov. 27: Along with the rest of the nation, the Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee celebrated the Constitution Day of India on 26th November 2022 at Gandhi Bhavan, Port Blair.
Constitution Day is also known as “National Law Day” or "Samvidhan Divas", which is celebrated in India every year on 26th November, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted to the Constitution of India 26th Nov 1949 and it came into effect on 26th January 1950.
The ANTCC President, Shri. Rangalal Halder gave a brief description of the principles and significance of the Constitutional Rights, which have been adopted to the Constitution. Halder said that Indian Constitution guarantees and protections the rights for individual citizens, including freedom of religion, the abolition of untouchability, and the outlawing of all forms of discrimination.
Senior Leader Shri. Ansab Ahmed read out the Preamble of Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity and the Oath of Allegiance to the Constitution.
Mahila Co-ordinater, Smt. Zubaida Begum addresses the programme by giving importance to the father of the Constitution Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar who played an important role in heading the Committee drafted for the formation of the Indian Constitution.
