Port Blair, Nov. 28: The MPL 47th National Sub-Junior (Under-15) & 38th National Sub-Junior Girls (Under-15) Chess Championships–2022 begins today at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, New Delhi.
Altogether 350 players across India are participating in the prestigious event in which 8 young chess players, four each in Boys and Girls from Andaman & Nicobar Islands are taking part.
The girls team consists of R Kashthuri Bhai, GDMS Port Blair, S Vidhya, Kamaraj EM, B Kavya, Nirmala Sr. Sec. School Port Blair & Megha Aadarsh, VKV Lambaline while the Boys team comprises of D Shrestha Vijay, Carmel Sr.Sec. School Port Blair, M A Dinakar Kamaraj EM School, V Yashwant, GMSSS Port Blair & Sesu Sudharshan Krishna, NCS Port Blair.
The event will be held for 9 days over 11 rounds under Swiss System in Classical time control from 28th November 2022 to 6th December 2022. The total Prize money for the championship is rupees Nine Lakhs which will be awarded among top twenty players in Boys & Girls Category.
