The Armed Forces Flag Day is observed every year in the memory of our valiant soldiers who laid down their lives for the Nation. The Day is commemorated every year since 1949 to mark the solidarity of the Nation with our soldiers. The Nation owes a huge debt of gratitude to them for their contribution during internal as well as external threats of insurgency and terrorism. This is an occasion for the citizens of the country to recognize and pay tribute to our Armed forces for their supreme sacrifices. It is also a befitting occasion to express our gratitude to the valiant combatants by way of generous contributions towards "The Armed Forces Flag Day Fund."

This year also "The Armed Forces Flag Day Fund" is being observed throughout the country on 7th December 2022 and our Islands will also be observing the same. To mark this day, Flag Day stickers and token flags are distributed through Rajya Sainik Board, Port Blair in return for generous voluntary donations and support for "The Armed Forces Flag Day Fund".

On the solemn occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day Fund, I urge every citizens of our Islands to voluntarily contribute towards the noble cause and to express solidarity with our Armed Forces Personnel and their families.
