Port Blair, Dec. 6: ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Port Blair observed Agricultural Education Day at Don Bosco School, Lalpahar, South Andaman on 03.12.2022. A total of 40 students attended the programme.
Dr. Y. Ramakrishna, Principal Scientist & Head, KVK made a detailed deliberation on the various aspects of agricultural education and the importance of observation of “Agricultural Education Day” on 3rd December every year.
The Principal of the school, Fr. Deva Anbu was the chief guest of the occasion and he stressed upon the students to pursue carrier in the field of agricultural sciences. The carrier progress of eminent Agricultural Scientists and their contribution in building nation was discussed by the resource persons from KVK, South Andaman.
The concepts of nutritional security and natural farming was discussed by Dr. B. K. Nanda, S.M.S. (Agricultural Engineering), Shri Thanmai Paul, Farm Manager and other teachers of the school.
The programme was conducted under active guidance of Dr. Eaknath B. Chakurkar, Director, ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair.
