Port Mout, Dec. 11: A special screening camp on prevention and control of “Non Communicable Disease” i.e. Hypertension, Diabetes, Cancer and Stroke and an AYUSH Camp was held at IRBn HQ, Port Mout on 10.12.2022 in association with DHS, Port Blair. Smti. Noorjahan, Health Educator addressed the programme and emphasis the objective of this camp.

A ‘nukad natak’ on the topic of “AIDS” was also performed by intern doctors of ANIIMS.  While screening, Dr. Lakshya, Assistant Professor, Community medicine, Dr. Keerthi, Medical Officer, Ayurveda, Dr. Asif Ahmed, Medical Officer, Homeopathy and supporting staff from HWC, Chouldari provided their services.

44 IRBn personnel, their family members & NDRF personnel stationed at IRBn HQ were screened and their blood samples were collected for further examination. The health awareness visuals were also shown in the camp to sensitize jawans to refrain themselves from consumption of alcohol, smoking and chewing of tobacco.

Dr.Lakshya, Assistant Professor, Community medicine, briefed about the NCD's risk factors, symptoms and its prevention & control.
