Port Blair, Dec. 13: A three-days training programme on “First Aid, Fire Fighting & Disaster Preparedness” is being conducted at Fire Service Training Centre, Fire Service (HQ) from 13/12/2022 to 15/12/2022 to sensitize Teachers, Govt. Servants, Hoteliers, Coaching Institute and General Public.

During the training, participants will be made aware of various activities of Andaman & Nicobar Fire Service i.e. Fire Control Room, operational techniques of Water Tender, Rescue Tender & Disaster Management equipment’s i.e. Search & Rescue equipment’s, Chain Saw, Concrete Cutter, Air Lifting Bag, Combi Tools etc. A live demonstration will also be organised on fire-fighting by using various fire extinguishers on different types of fire at Fire Service (HQ) by involving the participants.

In the inaugural function, Shri S.K.Jain, IPS Inspector General of Police (Law & Order) briefed about the importance of fire safety awareness to the participants. They were appealed to share and adopt the best practices and knowledge gained through this training programme. The Course certificates will be handed over to the participants at the valediction programme on 15 December,2022.

87 persons are attending the training programme. They were briefed about fire safety precaution, fire mitigation and firefighting measures.
