Port Blair, Jan. 16: It has come to the notice of the Tourism Department that some tourists while on visit to the Natural Bridge at Laxmanpur-ll, Shaheed Dweep walk on corals and protected marine biodiversity due to lack of information and knowledge. The coral reef & coastal ecosystem is fragile in nature and therefore, it needs to be protected & conserved.

In view of this, it has been decided by the Tourism Department of A&N Administration that henceforth, tourists visiting Natural Bridge at Laxmanpur-ll should compulsorily take the services of Certified Tourist Guide, to properly guide visitors/tourists with Do's & Don’ts etc. This step has been initiated to conserve and protect the fragile ecosystem of this unique terrain.

The visiting tourists/visitors/general public have been requested to abide by the instructions/directions of the authorities and co-operate and also be part of the conservation of marine ecosystem.

The prescribed fee for Certified Tourists Guides for visiting Natural Bridge, Laxmanpur-ll, Shaheed Dweep are as under:-

No. of Tourists 1-10: Rs 500/- (1/2 an hour) Point 1

No. of Tourists 1-10: Rs 1000/- (1 hour) Point 2

No. of Tourists 1-10: Rs 1 500/- (1 ½ hourto 2 hours) Point 3
