Port Blair, Feb 5: A proud moment for the Islanders as D Charvi, a Class II student of VKV Lambaline, a young budding chess player from A&N Islands shines in the Little England 3rd International FIDE Rating Open Chess Tournament 2023 held in Hosur, Tamilnadu from 01/02/2023 to 05/02/2023.
She secured third position in Under 07 Girls Category and has been awarded with a trophy and certificate. More than 270 players across India and abroad took part in the event.
Meanwhile D Charvi, and three other players from these Islands viz. P Midhun Vettaiyaar, Galav Shah of Carmel Sr. Sec. School Port Blair and Chittiboina Mageswari of Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School Port Blair will be participating in a FIDE Rating below 1600 Chess Tournament 2023 at Hosur, Tamil Nadu from tomorrow.
